SIBULAN, Negros Oriental- Several barangay officials, CAFGU’s including an educator could no longer hold their breath and had called on the pull out of a detachment commander in a mountainous village here.
The barangay officials of Enrique Villanueva of this town lead by village head Jefferson Moso has called on the pull out and relief of Sgt. Juan Solilap for several abuses he committed against residents including the small children.
In a letter sent to 302nd Brigade Commander Cesar Yano, village head Moso charged Sgt. Solilap of misconduct and maltreatment against members of the Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Units (CAFGU’S) forcing them to resign en masse.
Moso said that Solilap also threathens civilians and even barangay officials when he is drunk and creates disturbance during nightime by indiscriminate firing forcing the residents to wake from their sleep.
“He usually creates trouble and conducts an illegal checkpoint with only himself manning it and without wearing a proper uniform” stressed Moso in the same letter.
Worse the barangay officials pointed out that the abusive detachment commander when drunk, he threathens children by pointing his gun at them causing some of them now some phobia and mental disturbance.
Aside from village head Moso, the others who lodge their complaint before brigade commander Yano are barangay councilors Agnes Barera, Pablo Torres , Jr., Oligario Ruales, Romana Torino, Balbino Musco, Jr. Albino Saycon, Jr and Bernabe Toting.
The members of the CAFGU’s who resigned and lodged the complaint includes Gerueto Cuevas, Bienvenido Ricabolda and Ricky Tolinia.
Even the barangay school head identified as Genevive Musca has also lodge the same complaint because of threaths to children.
Others who filed the complaint includes some concerned residents Adel Suod, Roger Garpin, Juanito Quesil, Ma. Nebeth Desillo, Gregorio Calimpong, Jr. and Irish Torino .
Capitol lawyer Erwin Vergara whose office was also furnished with the complaint said that the detachment commander deserves to be booted out of service due to the abuses.
He, however said that brigade commander Yano has already communicated to Capitol officials and that he was also informed that the subject detachment commander is now under summary dismissal proceedings.
Atty. Vergara hopes that concrete actions will be taken against the subject soldier as his acts would tarnish the image of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and might create distrust on the government soldiers.
