Workers rally in Guihulngan
The Labor Day Protest in Guihulngan City yesterday afternoon turned out peacefully.
This was disclosed by Police Senior Inspector Petronilo Gracia, Guihulngan Chief of Police. According to him, the rally which was attended by more or less 250 people started at around 2:30 in the afternoon at the Guihulngan Public Market. After two hours of conducting their rally, the people then peacefully dispersed from the area. Gracia added that the group was able to present a permit in the name of Erwin Sabijon.
Earlier, in a statement, the group said that they received some complaints of harassment to the leader and the members of the militant group “Kaugmaon” which were coming from the military officers from the First Scout Ranger Battalion and the 11th Infantry Battalion who are now taking post in the hinterlands of Guihulngan.
