Mayor to apprehend brgy captains
Dumaguete City Mayor Agustin Perdices has ordered Dumaguete City Chief of Police Sr/Supt Leopoldo Cabanag to report to him the names of those barangay officials who do not respond when called over the hand held radios.
Earlier, 11 barangays in the city which has high criminality rates were given two hand held radios each by the Peace and Order Council which will be used in coordinating with the city police. But Sr/Supt Cabanag expressed his dismay since there are barangays which do not respond when called. There where instances wherein there were alarms in Barangay Calindagan but when Col Cabanag tried to contact them, nobody answered.
According to Mayor Perdices who was interviewed over DYEM Energy FM Dumaguete Tonight, he should be informed of the names that did not respond so that he can call their attention and ask them to give their explanations.
Col Cabanag, on the other hand, tried to call for a meeting with the 11 barangay heads but was postponed since many reasoned out that they are busy and could not attend the said meeting.
Mayor Perdices said it would be better then if he will call the meeting between the concerned barangay heads.
