Creation of Local Council of Women to hit final reading today
This afternoon during the regular session of the city council, the third and final reading of the ordinance creating the Dumaguete City Local Council of Women will be discussed.
The proposal “An ordinance creating the Dumaguete City Local Council of Women, defining its membership and functions and providing funds therefore” is authored by Councilor Amy Dicen.
Another agenda of today’s session will be the allotment of P200, 000 for the construction of a drainage canal at the Dumaguete City Jail Compound which will connect with the Earth Canal leading to Banilad-Bajumpandan Road. There are already program of work and detail estimates for the project which were formulated by the City Engineer’s Office. Mayor Agustin Perdices recommended to get the fund from the Government Equity Surplus-Code 501.
The letter sent by OIC City Legal Officer Neil Rey Lagahit asking to give Mayor Agustin Perdices the power to get into a Deed of Donation of Real Property Inter Vivos in accepting a donation coming from Consolacion Tia of a 140-square-meter property which will be affected in the construction of the Eugenio Dicen Barangay Road that will connect Candau-ay-Camanjac Barangay Road and Camanjac-Pulantubig Road will also be tackled. Also, another Deed of Donation from Augusto Agustin who donated a 143 square meter lot which will be affected in connecting Palinpinon Road and Camanjac-Pulantubig Barangay Road.
Antoher agenda of the session will be the first reading of the amendment of section 141 of Ordinance number 125 series of 1997 which is amended by Ordinance number 30 called “The 1997 Omnibus Tax Ordinance of the City of Dumaguete” authored by Councilor Franklin Esmena.
