Red Personality salvaged?
79th Infantry Battalion Commanding Officer Lt. Col Erwin Bernard Neri strongly denied the allegation of NPA Pulang Mt. Talinis Front Command based in Southern Negros that they have a member who was brought by the military and has disappeared.
According to Col. Neri, he believed that this is yet another black propaganda taken by the reds in order to get the sympathy of the civilians who are now slowly disregarding the members of the NPA.
Col. Neri said that the 79th IB did not kidnap anybody. In fact, he said, he does not even recognize Calixto “Ka Manong” Alfante who was allegedly kidnapped by the military. He added that the said person is not even in their order of battle. Neri added that the military follows a process if in case they could capture NPA personalities. He said they will turn them over to the police and file appropriate charges.
Earlier, a certain Calixto Alfante, 46, a native of Bohol, was allegedly brought by the military last June 11 in Sitio Kabalanusan, Barangay Dobdob, Valencia. After the said incident, Alfante was never seen again.
A certain Dom Panteleon, a representative of NPA Pulang Mt Talinis Front Command checked at the 302nd Brigade based in Tanjay City for the whereabouts of the Alfante bu to no avail.
