Marquez disclosed Villar’s conviction is positive
Justice has been finally served to the robbery victims who also met their untimely demise during the crime after they were robbed in Bayawan City last May 8, 2002.
“Crime does not pay,” this was the reaction of Negros Oriental Provincial Police Office Director Sr/Supt Augusto Marquez regarding the conviction of a former NPA Commander, Raul Villar aka “Ka Drilon”, with the charge robbery with multiple homicide yesterday afternoon.
Ka Drilon is sentenced with life imprisonment.
According to Col. Marquez, it is high time for the individuals who are moving in the hinterlands to think twice in doing actions that impose fear and chaos to innocent civilians. He even asked the communist rebels or to whoever who goes against the government to unite and support the government’s programs fro the betterment of the community instead. He added that now is the best time for everybody to unite for one purpose, peace, justice and development.
Col. Marquez disclosed that during the reading of the judge’s decision, the family of the victims is present. However, despite the fact that justice has already been attained, it could no longer bring back the lives of the victims.
