Taclob’s arrest, no whitewash?
Negros Oriental Provincial Police Police Office Director Sr/Supt Augusto Marquez, Jr. said they would really file legal charges against Engr. Ephraim Taclob.
Members of the media were in Camp Fernandez in Agan-an last Saturday to witness the filing of the case. But because of the long process, about 12 noon when members of the media left and waited or the inquest.
Col. Marquez disclosed that there would be no whitewash in the case. He denied allegations that a politician contacted and pressured him to release Taclob. Col. Marquez clarified that he did not get any call from any politician.
However, members of the media were just surprised when they found out that Engr. Taclob was released Saturday afternoon. Marquez said Taclob was released since the Marangal Security and Protective Agency owned the firearms while showing the documents. The Provincial Director said that the Firearms and Explosives Division of the Civil Security Group in Camp Crame is yet to scrutinize if the documents presented are not fake.
Col. Marquez explained that Engr. Taclob was released since they could not file charges yet while the documents are still checked in Camp Crame.
On the other hand, Engr. Taclob’s legal counsel Atty. Arturo Dupio stood firm that the firearms taken were owned by the five guards who were with Engr. Taclob. Atty. Dupio also disclosed that Engr. Taclob, along with his escorts, was about to visit his poultry after receiving reports alleging that some armed men came into the area.
