Dgte city remains Peaceful in the season
Although there is a shortage of the police force here in Dumaguete City, the city remained peaceful despite the outrageous increase of people in the big department stores because of the Christmas Season, said Supt Dionardo Carlos, Dumaguete City Chief of Police.
According to Supt Carlos, even with the on-going midnight masses or the “Misa de Gallo” every dawn, no serious crimes happened.
He also admitted that as of the moment, there is no augmentation from the provincial police group since the 705th Provincial Mobile Group headed by Chief Inspector Julius Munez has other assignments.
However, Carlos said that with the student’s Christmas vacation, those police authorities assigned in the different schools can be utilized as guardians for the other corners in the city.
The reinforcement of troops from the provincial police will be given again during the opening of the Sidlakang Negros Village tomorrow.
Supt Carlos said that the police’ security operations for the Buglasan festival are already fixed.
He also warned the rival gangs “Bloods” and “Crips” not to cause trouble during the festival because he will not hesitate to arrest them since the two gangs are getting back to their rivalry which has already caused a lot of troubles in the city.
