TB remains deadly in the province

The disease tuberculosis remains to be one of the fatal diseases all over the country which causes a great number of Filipinos yearly according to the Negros Oriental Medical Society during the program Radio Clinic of Dumaguete Tonight over DYEM Energy FM.

Dr Caesar Antonio Ligo, consultant in internal and pulmonary disease of the Holy Child Hospital, disclosed that there are a lot of reasons why a person could get tuberculosis and many have already lost their lives so we should not take this for granted.

This month, the World TB Day is celebrated with the theme “ Stop TB, Kaya ko, Kaya Mo, Kaya nating lahat” where Dr Ligo and Dr Ursus of the Silliman Medical Center spread the information about the cause of this deadly disease.

Dr Ursus pointed out that TB is one of the top 10 diseases in the world which causes death, 7th in the province, 8th in the region and 6th in the country.

The two doctors are calling all to consult a doctor if they notice any symptoms of TB which includes coughing and weakness. They are urging the public to consult their doctors immediately before something worse happens.
