New Sibulan Chief
to implement ordinances
Non-operational municipal ordinances of Bacong town will now be strictly implemented says the new Sibulan Chief of Police, Chief Inspector Errol Garchitorena.
According to Garchitorena, in an interview at the Chronicle’s radio arm DYEM Energy FM Dumaguete Tonight, the town mayor of Sibulan mayor Antonio Renacia has ordered him to fully implement the sleeping ordinances of the town. This includes the Sibulan Helmet Ordinance.
Because of this, Garchitorena warns the populace of Sibulan so do with those who pass by the said town to constantly wear their helmets. He added that no one is excused in the said ordinance, even the police officers who drive a motorcycle are obliged to wear a helmet.
The new Sibulan Chief of Police also admitted that as of the moment, since the implementation of the helmet ordinance is just newly started, many do not abide. However, he stressed that they will continue to implement such ordinance.
Another ordinance to be fully implemented is the Curfew Ordinance. In Sibulan, according to Garchitorena, it has been a long while that this ordinance has not been executed but now that he is already the chief of police in the said town, he will not allow these ordinances to sleep.
