City veterinarian denies dog-rabies neglect
The city veterinarian strongly denied the allegation that they failed to address and check the program regarding the undomesticated dogs which are raging in the province.
In a “Kapihan sa PIA”, Dr Lourdes Socorro explained that they have not neglected their responsibility these stray dogs. She said that they have even made it three times a week to search and keep stray dogs so do with vaccinating them.
Yesterday, a rabies forum was also conducted particularly the new Rabies Act of 2007 which defines the punishments for irresponsible setting off of dogs.
Dr Socorro admitted they have not yet filed a case against someone following this new law but she disclosed that Republic Act 9482 mandates to punish any personality who infringes this act.
In lieu to this, a dog walk will be conducted this coming April one around the city which will be participated by individuals who tame dogs and even students who have pet dogs.
