Sojor gets reappointment as NORSU prexy

Internationally billed educator, Dr. Henry A. Sojor has got the nod of Malacanang by reappointing him as the continuing president of the Negros Oriental State University (NORSU).
This was bared by CHED Commissioner Nina S. Ricafort in a statement sent to media outlets recently.
She said that the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has approved the reappointment of Dr. Henry A. Sojor as president of the Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) from July 13, 2008 to July 12, 2012 .
In Resolution No. 5 Series of 2008 approving the reappointment of Dr. Sojor, CHED cited Dr. Sojor’s outstanding leadership and highly significant performance in making NORSU the university that it is today.
In a statement, NORSU Public Information Officer Joy G. Perez said that the governing board sees it fit to extend Sojor’s term for four more years to fully support his plans for the University.
The said resolution also cited the condition concerning reappointment, saying that “In case the incumbent is eligible and qualified per standards set by the Governing Board (in accordance with RA 7722 for reappointment), no search need be conducted at the discretion of the Governing Body.”
Perez said the resolution was signed by all members of the Board of Regents except one who was absent.
Ricafort sits as chairperson and presiding officer of the Board of Regents of NORSU.
The resolution was signed during the board’s meeting on March 17 this year for school year 2007-2008 but was made known to the members of the media recently.
