TeleTech, DB conflict soon resolved
After more than three hour of debates and discussions, the city council has agreed to make a resolution for Mayor Agustin Perdices to order the Dumaguete Business Park Incorporated to change the location of the cooling towers and generators of TeleTech.
The resolution is authored by Vice-Mayor Woodrow Maquiling after parents and administrator from Saint Louis School Don Bosco complained of health hazards brought about by the cooling towers and generators of TeleTech which is located just beside the fence of the school.
The votes counted with 10 councilors agreeing the resolution while Councilors Alan Cordova and Franklim Esmena abstaining. Under the resolution which will be directed to Mayor Agustin Perdices, the mayor should request Mr. Julio Sy, owner of PBSI, to relocate the two cooling towers and generators following prescribed standards.
Vice-Mayor Maquiling revealed that Mr. Sy has already notified him to follow with whatever the city council agreed to do so. During the question hour of the regular session yesterday, some concerned personalities of the arising problem attended like Mr. Gabriel Fullido Jr, Representaive from DBPI, Alex Flores, STE Director of TeleTech, Ian Lozada, Facilities Lead and Alpha Aquino, Executive Director of TeleTech. Aqlso present were personalities from Don Bosco, namely, Fr. Jerome Dublois, School Administrator, PTCA Legal Counsel Atty. Manuel Arbon, PTCA President Mr. Bruno Bouffard, teachers Ermina Vintola and Bnky Condicion and parent Arnold Nalam.
