PCPR accuses military for doing irregularities
There is no report yet of any resident of Barangay Talalac, Sta Catalina or in any other area in the place as greatly affected by the military operation conducted against the communist rebels, said Sr/ Supt Melvin Ramon Buenafe, Provincial Police Director.
Earlier, the Promotion for Church People’s Response or PCPR under Joseph Lagura disclosed that there were 11 families of the area who left their properties in the area after the encounter that happened at Barangay Talalac, Sta Catalina between the 61st Infantry Batallion and the alleged 11-15 communist rebels. In the encounter, an alleged leader of the rebels was killed.
However, Col Buenafe said that he will inquire about the matter since he did not receive any reports of residents leaving their posts in the area.
The PCPR will conduct a Press Conference today in order to expose the alleged disturbances done by the military forces in the area.
Sr/Supt Carlos answered the allegations that the move of the PCPR is a desperate move to pre-empt the army deployment in Sta Catalina since the deployment of more military forces in the area will make the insurgency movements insignificant.
