Dumaguete City Chief of Police Supt Dionardo Carlos admitted that the consecutive street crimes that happened these past few weeks is alarming.
According to Supt Carlos disclosed that they are expecting for the arrest of one of the suspects these coming days after a warrant of arrest will be given by the court. He added that he is pleased that a victim bravely came out and filed a case against a suspect.
Carlos said that the group troubling the city is not from here but from a neighboring place of Negros Oriental which he refused to reveal. He added that this group has a local contact with criminals here in the city. There are also armed individuals in the said group, he said.
Carlos said that the suspects are usually on board a motorcycle with one or two passengers and they strike during daybreaks. Because of this, he said that he needed to change the hours of the roving conducted by police authorities in the city streets.
Carlos also warned the public to be alert and to avoid passing on to places which are dark and secluded.
