Widower bumped, dead
A widower met his untimely death after he was bumped by a Van for hire in crossing Tayak, Siaton town.
The victim was identified by the police as Perfecto Torres, 80 years old who hails in the same place.
The driver of the van for hire was identified as Edwin Alegre Ricomo, 25 years old from Villareal, Bayawan City.
Based on the police report, the v-hire was coming from Bayawan City and is running along the National highway. The v-hire was following a public utility jeep. The PUJ suddenly stopped to pick up a passenger and the v-hire overtook. In that point, the old man was also crossing in the street and was bumped by the v-hire.
The old man was thrown away from the commotion resulting to several damages in his body. He was immediately brought to a hospital here in Dumaguete City but proclaimed dead.
The driver of the v-hire voluntarily surrendered to the Siaton Police.
