Police stations ordered tight of security
Police Stations of the different municipalities and component cities of the province are recommended to tighten their security due to some sightings of the presence o the communist rebels who are members of the sparrow unit of the New People’s Army in some areas in the province.
The order was given by Negros Oriental Provincial Police Director Sr/Supt Melvin Ramon Buenafe after the Command Conference yesterday morning with the police chiefs.
Col Buenafe also ordered the police chiefs to let their Barangay Intelligence Network function. However, Col Buenafe refused to reveal the certain areas where sightings of the reds happened. Buenafe said that they are already working with the Philippine Army regarding the matter.
Col Buenafe also pointed out that based on the reports of the police chiefs in the province, the city of Dumaguete, and the whole province as well remains peaceful and orderly.
