MAJORITY SPLIT IN CITY COUNCIL ON
INCREASED HEALTH CARE RATES
The majority administration block in the city council was split right in the middle when they opposed the proposed ordinance increasing the health care services rates at the city puericulture center.
“this is the medical clinic of last resort, and still you want to tax the poor some more of higher rates for health care?” asked Councilor Esmena.
He said that a puericulture center of the city health department is the last recourse of the poor who do not have money.
If they do, they go to private clinics and hospitals. That they go to the puericulture center in the city means they are really poor and the act of increasing the cost of going to that center will be a disservice to the poor people, said councilor tony remollo.
