Col. Carlos assures safety to international studes
Dumaguete City PNP chief of Police Col. Dionardo Carlos met with the International Community of Students yesterday and heared their views on their current welfare.
The international student populace gathered themselves at the Silliman University to mark the fellowship among them.
In the event, Col. Carlos assured the international students that they will be given priority in protection and security during their stay in the country since they are also representing the nations which have diplomatic relationship with the Philippines.
It has been reported that in some occasions, foreign students have been victims of robbery and other forms of violence perpetrated by criminal elements in the city.
Col. Carlos added that the creation of the auxiliary police, which is patterned after the city of Bayawan, will help security and police augmentation in the city of Dumaguete.
