Php 12, 000 cash gifts for City Hall Employees
After more or less thirty minutes of debating, the city council has at last made a resolution to give a total of Php 12, 000 cash gifts to the employees of the city hall.
Councilor Nilo Sayson suggested that the Php2, 000 productivity bonus will be added to the Php10, 000 christmas cash gift.
This was earlier contradicted by Councilor Chiquitting Sagarbarria, Franklin Esmena and Alan Cordova since an organization of heads of the personnel department said that the criteria for the issuance of the productivity bonus are not yet fixed. Second was the availability of the funds.
However, Councilors Nilo Sayson, Rotelio Lumjod and Amy Dicen-Cordova pushed for the motion saying that the group composed of officials from the city finance said that they have the funds.
Because of this, the city councilors agreed to that the additional Php2, 000 will not be identified as a productivity bonus, rather, be given as gift and be added to the former amount of Php10, 000.
During the voting process, councilor Alan Cordova abstained for two reasons. First was that it is not yet clear of the city has enough funds and second, if a productivity bonus will be given, the city has not identified the who among the employees in the city hall are doing good performances.
City councilors who nod in the resolution were Sayson, Lumjod, Remollo, Dicen, Catan, Sagarbarria, Esmena, Infante, Erames and Duran while Councilor Noel de Jesus was absent during the session.
The resolution will still be subject to the approval of city mayor Agustin Perdices.
