SUCN scores 2 city hall officials
Silliman University Dean of the College of Nursing sent a letter to the members of the Dumaguete City Council to complain the alleged chastise to some members of the SU College of Nursing Association and its adviser by 2 officials of the city hall.
SUCNA Adviser Ma. Teresa Belcina and some officers of the association went to the City Mayor’s Office to follow-up their letter to City Mayor Agustin Perdices through Vice-Mayor Woodrow Maquiling.
SUCNA reported to the vice mayor being the Presiding Officer of the City Council to complain the on-going victimization of SUCN students by snatchers and hold-uppers. However, 2 officials from the city hall allegedly got enraged why the letter was through the vice-mayor. Earlier, Vice-mayor Woodrow Maquiling was also dismayed since he was not given any copy of the letter.
The Vice-mayor was just surprised when Dr. Teresita Sinda, Dean of the College of Nursing, followed up the letter. In an interview over DYEM Energy FM Dumaguete Tonight, Dr. Sinda said the 2 officials have nothing to be angry of regarding their letter for Mayor Perdices but through Vice-Mayor Maquiling. Dr. Sinda explained that they addressed the letter to the Vice-Mayor since he is the presiding officer of the city council which is in charge of the formulation of city ordinances. The dean added that what the officials need to attend to is the content of the letter and not as to where the letter is addressed.
