| MAYOR’S VICE STIRS FEUD;CITY HALL GRAFT RAMPANT?While the drug personalities signed a peace pact, ….it was only replaced with another verbal acrobatics between the city mayor and his vice mayor. Vice Mayor Woodrow Maquiling who claims to have had more votes than the city mayor Agustin Perdices, blasted in a privilege speech that the city mayor failed to implement the no-vendro policy on parks and plazas.Mayor Perdices took the cue and ordered effective Sept 3, to clean up, not just parks and plazas, but all public places as well of ambulant vendors in keeping with national laws.Maquiling said he only meant parks and plazas, but the mayor included those in the tempura business, peanut, and short goodies push cards and carts.Mayor Perdices said that he will stop his order if the VM recants. ButVM was not set to recant since Maquiling said, he is fighting city hall against graft especially in what he described as blatant, open, graft of public knowledge which he intends to divulge soon, including city chiefs of offices. One area of graft is on the audit of collected funds. It was found out that collected amount, when audited, as being passed around secretly,is usually short. When they take over with the audit official, some of them simply exchanged cash on hand just to make the other appear as completed their mission.
