The Dolphins in Bais City are already back after the organisims allegedly fled away due to the oil exploration at the Tañon Strait.
Last Sunday, the Dumaguete Media witnessed the relaunching of the dolphin watching in Bais where innumerable dolphins swam along with the pumpboats.
Around seven to nine was the best time to watch the dolphins and the Dumaguete media was lucky enough to witness the presence of the dolphins which played and showcased their swimming abilities in the water.
Two kinds of dolphins were present during the media’s tour. These were the Spinner Dolphins and the Bottlenose Dolphins.
According to Daisy Marie Teves, Aquaculturist of Bais City who guided the media personalities said that there are 11 species of dolphins in Bais. However, at present, only two of the eleven species showed up yet. She added that there will soon be a study on why the other species have disappeared.
