Marquez pleased with Guihulngan Prosecutor Appointment
The Negros Oriental Provincial Police Director is greatly pleased with the appointment of a new City Prosecutor in Guihulngan.
This was disclosed by Sr/Supt Augusto Marquez, Jr. himself. Marquez is also the chairman of the Inter-Agency Legal Assistance Group (IALAG) which will file legal charges against militant groups and atrocities of the New People’s Army.
According to Col. Marquez, a lot of cases are now pending and not filed by the police in Guihulngan because of the absence of a city Prosecutor. The Provincial Director said one of the cases they are about to file is the attempted murder of a former member of the Special Partisan Unit (SPARU) of the NPA who is now one of the CAFGUs named Julbert “Jojo” Candido.
Candido has returned to the bosom of the government but two weeks after, he was waylaid by 5 men who are allegedly members of the SPARU of the NPA who are Candido’s former colleagues. Candido has also positively identified the suspects responsible for waylaying him.
Col. Marquez said he won’t mind even if the newly designated Guihulngan City Prosecutor Constantino Trinidad will assume office in September 1 yet since according to him, what is important is that a new Prosecutor has been finally assigned.
