Siaton citizens conduct rally
More than 500 members of the Barangay Defense System (BDS) and concerned citizens of Siaton town participated in a Peace rally condemning the New People’s Army last Sunday afternoon.
The activity is a part of the 3-day live-in seminar with the theme “Panaghiusa sa katawhan ang dalan sa kalinaw ug kalamboan.” The 3-day seminar was initiated by the 79th Infantry Battalion headed by its Commanding Officer Lt. Col. Erwin Bernard Neri, the local government of Siaton and some concerned agencies in the government. The seminar was participated in by Barangay Captains and officials from the 26 barangays of Siaton.
Those who participated in the rally marched in the streets of the town and ended their activity through a program at the Siaton Gymnasium. The rallyists were carrying placards condemning communism and some cause-oriented groups.
