Napao to sit as
Prov’l Supt next week?
City Schools Division Superintendent Licerio Napao refused to confirm the rumors that starting next week, he will already sit as the new Department of Education Division of Negros Oriental Superintendent.
In an interview at DYEM Energy FM Dumaguete Tonight, Napao said he does not know about this rumor which is spreading in the provincial DepEd.
However, he did not deny this report but has instead accepted the congratulations given by the Chronicles’ radio arm, DYEM. Napao said he is ready to follow and accept any order given to him.
Napao has also disclosed that he does not know anything about Governor Dodo Macias’ recommendation for him to sit as the new Superintendent for the Division o Negro Oriental. Macias’ recommendation has been controversial since reports revealed that Napao is not qualified in the position because he was not able to pass in the Superintendent’s Examination which is an essential factor for the position.
Gov Macias was very vocal with the media regarding his disappointment that Dr. Victoria Galgo was appointed as the Officer-in-Charge. He has even threatened DepEd that he will not allow the use of sports facilities and sites in the province during DepEd’s upcoming Provincial Athletic Meet which the governor has really realized when he denied Galgo’s request to use the sports facilities. In a letter, Macias said that the Lamberto Macias Sports and Cultural Center, the Aqua Cenetr and the Praxevilla Tennis Court will not be available next month in time of the Provincial Athletic Meet.
The governor disclosed in his letter that these sites will undergo routine maintenance and repairs to prepare for the coming Olympic Qualifying Meet which the province will host.
