P2M pork barrel each
Provincial Board Members, not to be outdone, have increased their individual pork barrels from Pl.7M to P2M starting next year, according to Gpv/ Dodo Macias today in a caucus with provincial policy makers.
For a total of P20-million in funds to be disbursed at the discretion of provincial board members, these are usually given to hospitals and drug stores for the hospital expenses of their constituents. Some of them buy computers for their public schools in their towns.
FLAG RAISING MONTHLY.
In another vein, flag raising at the capitol will be once a month on the first Monday no longer every week. It will be moved to 7am no longer 8am, so that employees will be on time for work. Macias said that capitol employees can express their nationalism in many other ways other than singing the national anthem.
He said the best form of nationalism is to render genuine service and give quality time to the public while being paid by people’s money working at the capitol.
He added, the worst nationalism is to be notoriously tardy, absent, and wasting precious public time, and leave so many capitol transaction delayed because of sheer inefficiency.
This developed as things are now starting to run smoothly at the capitol, after a different atmosphere during the Arnaiz incumbency.
During Arnaiz time, people at the capitol needed more supervision because Arnaiz has always been out in the towns and barrios which according to him is the best way to serve the people, rather than sit in his swivel chair at the capitol. His policy was that he would rather be where the people are.
