“Mixed Feelings!”
This was how Sr/Supt Melvin Ramon Buenafe described his emotion after being assigned as the Chief of the Regional Intelligence Division of the Police Regional Office 7.
Col Buenafe’s reassignment is a promotion; in fact, he will also head the Visayas Area Police Intelligence Office which is under the Office Directorate for Intelligence, National Headquarters PNP.
Col Buenafe said that he has learned to love the province of Negros Oriental and he is very grateful to Governor Emilio Macias for all the support he has given to the Provincial Police.
There are a lot of things through which Col Buenafe would like Col Augusto Marquez Jr, the new Provincial Police Director, to continue which he was not able to finish during his tour of duty. These include the multi-purpose hall, the firing range, a shooting competition between the local government units and the police and to continue the fight against the illegal drugs, illegal gambling and crimes.
Col Buenafe added that he is suggesting Col Marquez to continue the tie between the public and the police since this was what made the police’ campaign against crime succeed. In fact, the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office was chosen as the Best Provincial Police Office in the whole region.
