Gov wants to keep Buenafe;
Disapproved names recommended
Governor Dodo Macias is hopeful that Chief PNP General Avelino Razon would approve his request to retain the Negros Oriental Provincial Police Director even if his tour of duty here in the province is coming to an end.
In an interview at DYEM Energy FM Dumaguete Tonight, Governor Macias disclosed that this is the reason why he junked the 3 officials given by the Police Regional Office 7 based in Cebu which was supposed to be names that he should have selected as a replacement of Sr/Supt Melvin Ramon Buenafe after his tour of duty here would end.
The three officials recommended were Sr/Supt Jesus Gaquing, Sr/Supt Federico Castro Jr and Sr/Supt Antonio Gardiola.
According to the governor, he was not able to choose any of the three. Evidently, Sr/Supt Gaquing has even met with the governor but the governor failed to recognize him.
Governor Macias said that what he wants the Provincial Police Director is somebody who has already served the province before who is already very well acquainted with the province.
Macias said that despite General Razon’s busy schedule, he is hopeful that Razon will grant his request to retain Sr/Supt Melvin Ramon Buenafe.
