Plantation open for Negotiation,
Solon doubts ownership
Former Senator John Osmena is open for negotiations with the local government of Pamplona regarding the retrieval of the land owned by Pamplona Plantation Holdings Incorporated which is presently occupied by private individuals, a church and the town’s municipio.
Ex- Senator John Osmena is the President of the Pamplona Plantation Holdings Incorporated and has sent a letter to Pamplona Mayor Apolinario Arnaiz last week to inform him that they will already take back the 40-hectare land owned by the plantation.
A portion of this 40-hectare land is occupied by the municipio, church and several squatters.
In an interview at DYEM Energy FM Dumaguete Tonight, Osmena disclosed that he will visit Pamplona today and listen to the voice of the people. Because of this, there is a possibility that a peaceful negotiation would turn out especially that the area has long been occupied by the church and the municipio.
Earlier, Osmena threatened to seek legal assistance in order to evict the squatters in their property.
Second District Congressman George Arnaiz said that he will look into the documents of the land since this area has long been occupied by the municipio and yet the alleged owner has come out just now.
